About Sami

I specialize in costume design and construction, with over a decade of sewing experience and a particular passion in building one-of-a-kind sculptural costumes. My expertise spans from backstage to on set, with film credits including Blood & Rust (2026), Carry-On (2024), Lisa Frankenstein (2024), and Mike (2022).

I graduated from Kent State in 2017 with a BFA in theatre design and technology, then spent nearly seven years in New Orleans where I worked in theatre, cut my teeth in the film industry, and proudly became a member of IATSE Local 478 in 2022. I am now based in Columbus, Ohio, and eager to work locally or travel for opportunities anywhere.

Every project brings its own new challenge, and I love problem-solving and continuing to learn and grow in my career. Some of my favorite things are astrology, animals (especially dogs!), thrift shopping, sustainability, spending time outside, laughing hard, learning new skills, travelling, and getting to work! The process of bringing a creative vision to life brings me so much joy, and I’m here to make it happen with love and care.
